Myrtle Cottage Guest HouseWelcome to Myrtle Cottage Guest House run by your host Wendy Tolson and her assistant Tina Hillier. We hope that you will have a very pleasant stay and enjoy all that the surrounding beautiful New Forest National Park has to offer. Please note that we are only a 2 minute drive away from the Peppa Pig attraction and approximately a 15 minute drive from the Southampton Cruise Terminals and equally a 15 minute drive to the awarding winning beaches of Bournemouth. Parking is available on the driveway for 2 vehicles with additional secure parking across the road. A complimentary tea tray is available in your room with a range of teas, coffees, cafetiere and specialty biscuits. Free Internet access is available and you will find the password and code in your room. We have a wonderful garden here at Myrtle Cottage, so do feel free to explore and enjoy. The Retreat Summer House and the conservatory breakfast room are open for guests use as are the various sun loungers scattered around the garden. If you would like tea served in the garden, laundry service, ironing or a short taxi journey, these are the things that we are more than happy to help you with. Please note that should you require the use of a fridge, there is a guest fridge available in the breakfast room. We kindly request guests to vacate their rooms on the day of departure by 10am. We have a comprehensive library of local information and maps available for guests. Your welcome information guide, which you will find in your room, includes information for the hiring of bikes, riding stables, local taxis and places of interest. All rooms are provided with a room key and also a key for the windows. If you feel that you may require a house key, please ask. Myrtle Cottage is a non smoking house however you may smoke in the garden. If there is anything that would enhance your stay at Myrtle Cottage, please don’t hesitate to ask. Eating out in the VillageWe have two lovely local pubs within a short walking distance both offering excellent food. This first pub is the White Hart and is located on the Cadnam roundabout. The second pub is a lovely thatched pub Sir John Barleycorn and is located a short distance behind the White Hart. We also have an award winning French restaurant and bistro ‘The Chantecler’ in the village only a 5 minute walk away. You will probably have to make a reservation so please call 02380 813271 or 812161 to make a booking. A 5 minute drive will bring you to another excellent village pub ‘The Compass’ where local food is served alongside a wide selection of local beers. We also have an excellent dog friendly pub just a 5 minute drive away to the Village of Brook. |
